Oh ho ho, it's that time again! I contemplated making this release reaaaally late (and by that I mean a few hours later than usual...) to tease all those impatient people, and then I thought, why not! Kekeke, I'm so mean, but impatience is never rewarded! *nods wisely* XD I'm actually writing up this release post at 5pm, let's see when this post will actually be released. ;)
The winners for the Fanwork Comp have been announced! If you haven't already seen, check them out here.
So yeah, I totally recommend you check those two out if you haven't already! It'll definitely be worth your time. ^_^ Don't forget to appreciate the other finalists' work too! Everyone did an awesome job and deserve a huge serving of recognition for the time and effort they put into crafting their submissions. :D
On a short note before we start, Tamura-sensei is releasing a new manga compilation volume called ZOO, that will come out on the 10th of August, and
dragonator has informed me that a new short series of hers, Iromen ~Junin Toiro~, will begin serialisation in Cocohana starting on the 28th of August (gosh, just look at that suave businessman! *swoon*)! So many exciting things for August! :DDD
All right, now that all the news is out of the way, it's time for that release! You know it, it's the start of a new story arc: Awakening Insects! It's a solar term that roughly spans the 5-20th of March, and said to be the time the storms begin and the insects reawaken from hibernation. That's right, this one's a Spring arc, which can only mean one thing... :D

I liked this chapter because we get to see more of the new world. The surroundings are so mysterious, especially the animals and plants. I really love that we get to see more of it. It was also pretty entertaining to see her repeat, “I wonder if it’s edible”. I know she’s starving, but still. She's recovered her memory (partly at least) and moving forward with her clingy new friends. xD I much prefer the active Hana! Go for it! <3

Chapter catchphrase: 「じ―っ!」(SFX: Stare~!)
Personal notes: Clopity clipity clop goes my head after so many repeating SFX. Well, they were simple enough, just a lot of inadvertently reading the same words over and over again, until my head was reverberating with them. Ouch.
Chapter notes: Hmm… Shock induced amnesia? Perhaps she’s better off not knowing for now, as she needs a clear mind to properly focus on observing her environment in order to guarantee her survival. Though, I have to say, the ecology of this new world is fascinating: dehydrated dinosaurs (just add water?), giant insects and now capybaras and mountain-climbing horses. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Hana, Hana, Hana! I'm so glad to see you up and about and having fun again! T_T Welcome back, m'dear! Lol, am I the only one who thought 'Pokemon' when Hana was going about catching her food? "Gotta catch 'em all!" XD
But what a pleasant chapter; watching Hana surviving, living, enjoying her surroundings. :) At the same time, I really feel for the poor girl! Despite how strong she seems, she's such a lonely soul deep down. D: I love seeing Hana's little weaknesses, I feel like we have a lot in common (apart from the fact she's way more resilient than me). XD I definitely shed a tear or two when those gorgeous little piggies came back for her and let her know that she wasn't absolutely alone in the world! Awwww!! I love those piggies! >_< Hana you DO have friends, don't feel lonely!

♠ 1st place went to WishForInspiration's gorgeous doujinshi, Someday! Plenty of effort went into crafting this pleasant little story, and not a single character seems out of place (it's as if Tamura-sensei could've written it herself!), not to mention how lovely the art is. Their story, although short, was fun sweet and endearing; I definitely 'awww'ed at the end! A well deserved win, if I do say so myself. ^_^v
♠ 2nd place went to Rahzer's compelling poetry, Solstice! I really love poetry, and I was totally blown away by Rahzer's number; they really captured the hardships and ghosts of Summer B's past! Even if you don't like poetry usually, it's totally worth the read. Sometimes I read it again, just to wash myself in its awesomeness. :)

CUTE
oh my god you guys come here and let me love you

these new chapters are such a nice breather after the intensity of the last arc, and this one so full of wonder. those panels of the horses melting out of the fog and dancing on the shore, plus the mention of "flower-like" plants especially got me. the world is beautiful, and i'm glad hana can see it.
i feel all warm and fuzzy now. hopefully hana can take care of herself and the piggy posse in chapters to come. i want them to be permanent characters. (also i want someone to find and eventually tame the woolly horses for riding. pls do this yumi tamura)

And that tiny one's stare was adorable :3 Yay, Hana is back and really taking everything in stride. Those tiny piglets! Cute, cute, cute! ~(^v^~) Hope she meets the Spring team soon, I really miss them :>

Date: 2012-08-01 08:08 pm (UTC)Another Hana ch okay. I really wanted to get into the other characters like Aramaki or a secondary character, but then...
She started scouting the land and was in the zone in survival mode with a lot of loving life going on and that's when I fell in love with this chapter!
I like the pigs more than the horses; HanaxCapybaras!
