Ah, the dreamwidth site is down so you might not see this post for a while! XD This is totally out of my hands, but sorry about that... ^^;;
Anywho, not long after I released last week's chapter, my October issues for the Flowers and Cocohana mags came, along with some lovely news! If you follow our Twitter, you'll know this news already, but it seems like Shogakukan is celebrating their 90th anniversary soon, and Tamura-sensei is taking part by releasing a new special 'Flower Comics Masterpieces' anthology called Seimei no Netsuryo (The Heat of Life)! Apparently the theme will be things that Tamura-sensei does best, making emotionally destroying stories full of the passion and pains of life, with characters who must struggle against despair and great adversity, and so on. Supposedly a gallery full of her magazine colour inserts will be included as well (I'm guessing of all her work up to date?). It'll also come with a special story and artbook, called Pulse - The Battles of BASARA/7SEEDS, that'll include an interview of Tamura-sensei talking about the two series, as well as being packed with coloured artwork and extra stuff! :D Ouu I'm so excited!! I believe it will be coming out sometime January 2013. ^_^ Also, Shinohara Chie (Red River) and Watanabe Taeko (Kaze Hikaru) will be doing their own Flower Comics Masterpieces thing, for those of you who are also fans of them! :D
Aside from that, I also posted some preview pics of Tamura's new short story (meaning each chapter is only about 8 pages long) series, Iromen, which is a splice of life josei comedy. It's really cute (and packed full of ikemen like Akagi, our resident Shuri/Arashi/Ango look-a-like), and I'm enjoying it so far! ^_^ I'll be happy to scanlate it, but I'll probably wait until the volumes are released because it's a bit expensive to buy a whole magazine each month just for 8 pages! xD
Whee lots of great news this week, huh? :DD Anyway, after all that excitement, it's time for chapter 114!! (BTW
azou8506 has come back! Yay!!! :D)

Well this is my return chapter so I kind of did some dumb things when I was doing my cleaning/editing duties XD. But I’m glad I am back on board, even though I now have much less time on my hand.
So what about the chapter itself? Well it pretty much sums up why I like 7 seeds: realism. We get to realize that even though X hundreds of years have passed the only people that could survive are those who were born in the right place and where able to make the right social connection. So, to me it’s another great chapter.

Oh poor Fujiko-chan...If you’re going to let your mind wonder like that you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment in the looks department. Though, considering the small and rapidly diminishing pool of candidates, I don’t think she can afford to be very picky. They are all supposed to be the genetic cream of the crop after all.
And on page 35 we have a very good example of the literal dying screams of an entire ecosystem destroyed by the (re)introduction of a different species which wreaks havoc on the ecological balance. Considering the rate at which they can grow, all those different types of fungus spores let loose in such a damp and rich in nutrients environment will probably just explode overnight. Bon apetit guys and enjoy it while it lasts.

Eeee, I love Chisa!! XD I wasn't as shocked as Hana and Fujiko for the things she said because I've always thought that sort of thing was a given in the world too (life's unfair like that)! Call me a cynic, but I just didn't believe that the Seeders were chosen by random either, and Chisa has affirmed my suspicions. xP
I also like how she put it out there that Takashi was hard-working man with ideals and principles. I know there are a lot of people who hate him, or don't feel that he and Kaname and all the others who were in charge of Summer A should be forgiven, but I've always...not agreed with what they did, but understood their perspective, I guess. ^^;; Like I admire their dedication to their cause, even if some parts of it were misguided. I just don't think they meant to wrong anyone (even though they ended up doing that...). ^^;; Maybe I just like to play the devil's advocate and take the side of the least loved! XD Heh.

7 SEEDS Chapter 114 - "Omen"
Hana has spotted an unusual man-made structure, could this be a supplies shelter, or perhaps another mysterious underground shelter like Ryugu...?!

Date: 2012-09-25 02:32 am (UTC)I love reading about these girls; they really lift my spirits! OMG, Fujiko's imaginations of what Ban-chan might look like make me laugh every time XD I still can't wait until they meet (hopefully).
Man, Hana's got guts. She's scared (and who wouldn't be?), but she still climbs down and starts exploring, even though any number of things could have happened to her. And then Chisa and Fujiko came after her, and I was all ^__^ ^__^ ^__^ They're such wonderful friends :D
Chisa rocks in this chapter. And yeah, like you, I've always assumed that all of them were chosen based on money/connections anyways. It's how the world works. In a way, I actually think how they chose team summer A is the least biased. After all, there were around 100 contenders at first, I think, and they were chosen or not as part of the final seven based on their own achievements, you know?
And I've never disliked Takashi-sensei. I don't think he was a cruel person at all, and he did give his entire life up to the hope that his daughter would survive in the future. I can't see anything wrong with that. Do I agree with what they did to summer A? Of course not. But that doesn't make all of the teachers bad people themselves. Not including Unami, of course DX
Thanks for the chapter!

Date: 2012-09-25 06:02 am (UTC)Ahhh I hope they meet too, but I'm sure they will! I feel like everyone would've met everyone (if they don't die first...) by the end. :3 And lol, it makes me giggle every time too! Fujiko is such a laugh. xD
Yesss!! I loved it when the other two appeared too! Especially when Chisa was all like 'we're go out together'. XDDD Their friendship is perfect! <3
Hmm, actually Summer B might be the least biased choice, I don't imagine them having any relation to really rich or powerful people, unless they were distant relatives or something (besides Arashi, Hotaru and Mozu of course). Like Chisa said, even though there were over 100 kids in the institute, how were they selected in the first place? I remember reading that they were chosen for their genetic superiority (by artificial insemination? I'm not really sure...I need to go back and read those volumes to see if it was ever divulged), it could be that they screened sperm and egg banks to find the genetically superior ones, or it could be that they used the sperm from genetically superior members of the project. It's all very shady, so who knows how biased it was! XD Of course in the end it, those with the most skill (or the most luck) were the ones who survived (because seriously, Mayu was probably a better candidate than Koruri XP).
I don't think it was only his daughter, I think he was thinking of the entire 7 Seeds project in general. Takashi said so to that minister that he wasn't working for the government but for the future of Japan and the children who were sent to save it. Ango and Ryo were amongst the ones he thought of before he died, besides Hana. ^^;; Lol yeah, I agree that Unami was probably the only one I don't empathise with...he was just a jerk. =_= Though I have met people who do take his side too! Maybe he had some sort of redeeming feature I didn't catch... XD
