I'm super tired today, so I won't say much. But I will let you know that volume 24 is scheduled to be released on the 8th of March, two weeks from now! :) A great day because it'll also be when we get our new puppy. YAY! ^_^ Incidentally, chapter 122 will be the first chapter of volume 24 too. :)

It would also be nice if people didn't ask when the next release is coming. ^^;; Release dates are probably going to stay pretty sporadic from now on, being that I have no idea when I'll have time to catch up on scanlating. It'll be nice if I could step back and just do the translating, but I guess that's not happening any time soon! ^^;; In any case, I apologise for any delays from now on, but there definitely won't be a regular release date anymore and releases will come when they're done so please be patient. :) Any help, of course, is most welcome. ^^

The fire continues to terrorise the scattered teams, how is it that no matter how far they walk the fire continues to stay right on their heels when there isn't a single bit of vegetation to burn?! At this rate, will everyone really make it to the coast safely...?

Hana is so cute is this chapter! The whole beetle thing reminds me of Winnie the Pooh, I don't know why but it does. Asking a beetle to help them escape the fire, how can you not love her? XD It always makes me sad that so many people don't like her, she's totally adorbs, and more so recently than ever. :3 Also her friendship with Aramaki gives me warm fuzzies like Natsu's friendship with Arashi. In both cases, I hope they continue to foster strong long-lasting friendships that don't progress any further. ^^ Yay for friendship! :)

Hahaha I love how Tsunomata and Hibari just rides in on those horses like it's normal. I really like Tsunomata though, I hope Tamura-sensei gives him more scenes >.<" But ohgosh that doublespread of all the animals running into the ocean was just gorgeous. Thank you for another wonderful chapter! And no need to apologise for the irregular updates, I'm sure everyone is busy with their own works. I'm so thankful for you guys for scanlating this wonderful manga!

Yeah, Tsunomata is one cool guy. ^_^ I love his kansai accent too, too bad it's untranslatable into English. I wouldn't want him sounding like a yankee or delinquent when he's clearly refined and monk-like. :3 I also hope he gets more scenes too, along with Hibari. :)

Horses!!!

Yay~! Thank goodness some of the horses escaped the mushrooms and survived the forest fire!! I totally love horses, so I was really sad when so many of them died. It's quite nice how the foal greeted them, but decided to stay with its new "mother" nevertheless. The interaction between Hana and her "kid" is just too cute. But really, it's absolutely about time Hana names the foal!!

Amazing scene, Tsunomata riding in with that horse herd all relaxed, just like he does such things on regular basis! XD How the hell did he persuade the horse to take him and Hibari along on its back? Well, of course those horses have never been hunted by humans, but aren't wild animals usually a bit more wary towards strangers..? The neighbors' horses on the meadow next to our house never approach us unless we offer them something to eat (and even then, they leave again right away), normally horses have an instinct to shy away from unknown creatures. But, oh well. LOVED this scene!!

Also, that double-spread with those animals and the moment where Aramaki and Hana reconciled with a major league style fist were really great. A big thumbs-up for everyone involved with the cleaning, you're doing a really great job!!

Right, in our area there are some former peatlands as well. In old times, people used to harvest, dry and store those clumps and burned them in winter. I guess now they realized this possibility, once they settle down they will return during the next dry season and harvest some peat. It's really interesting how Tamura-sama points out the many varying ways of nature to feed its children.

By the way, I know of a really great series about a young woman in the Stone Age which accurately describes many ways of surviving in the wilderness, including a vast knowledge about herbs, fire cooking methods, hunting and amateur animals taming. I totally loved this book series too, it's been written by Jean M. Auel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_M._Auel) and the first volume is "The Clan of the Cave Bear" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Clan_of_the_Cave_Bear). I can totally recommend this series to you!! It's so popular it's even been translated in various languages.

Thank goodness the rashes are gone too! I'd been quite worried about that.

Hana seemed to be quite glad and surprised when she learned Ango and Ryou had been driven out of the community, wasn't she? I had the impression Hana totally didn't expect the entire community to stand up to Ango/Ryou for her sake. She's completely underestimating her own popularity.

Hana was way too focused about the loss of Aramaki's dogs and afraid of Aramaki making her responsible for it. But fortunately Aramaki's heart is way too big to get mad at her for that. Instead, he worried about her again right away... he is just such a wonderful, nice person. I'd so love to have a boyfriend like him! :-D

By the way, that girlfriends moment when Fujiko and Chisa huddled with her once Hana realized everyone knew about the rape incident was really cute. I love those friendship scenes! Though Chisa really seems to have looked forward to give it to Ango, eh...? She seemed to really regret missing that opportunity. I always suspected she had quite a wild nature under that calm shell of hers. XD I also pointed out my theory in the spoilers page for Chisa on the 7 Seeds Wiki: http://7-seeds.wikia.com/wiki/Spoilers_Chisa_Taiami (By the way, all the Team Spring members' spoiler pages are completed now as well.)

But I'm sorta worried about what's gonna happen should Hana come across the former camp of Summer B and discover Chimaki's carving... she will be certainly most afraid that Ango will try to kill Arashi just how it almost really happened. And being completely helpless since she has no idea where to look for Team Summer B, she'll sure hate that.

LOL for the idea of making the bug lead the way! That sure was unexpected. But to think that a bug can become as big as her own hand! I've never seen beetles as big as that - probably an evolved version. Fujiko's and Chisa's faces really cracked me up when they were looking at that new pet of Hana's. ;-D "wild child" Hana, eh? That totally fits her. She really belongs to this new world bursting with life. So many animals! Wonderful moment when they all went towards the ocean.

Hibari looked just as stubborn as ever, didn't she? She's really a cute little hedgehog. When I see her, it always reminds me of this pic with the baby hedgehog looking all prickly (wanted to link it up, but for some reason I can't access the Characters Animals Thread anymore... so annoying!! I wonder why? Can you guys still open that thread?

Hibari's thoughtful face in that last part made me think that maybe they're quite close to Sado already? It could be that they decide to go to the island to escape the fire for now. I wonder what's awaiting our friends there... it's probably a new arc, then. By the way, are we still in the Awakening Insects Arc or is it already a new chapter?

Thank you very much for this wonderful surprise, Panda-chan and team! I was really happy when that new chap came out so fast although all of you have so much work to do.

I'll continue completing the 7 Seeds Wiki as far as possible meanwhile, and then finally get around to writing the publisher letter. By the way, does anyone know already which response Viz had towards the many people voting for 7 Seeds on Facebook?

Hmm, they're not really horses, well they're not really sure if they're horses or not. They did mention that they're rather deer-like with their great mountain-climbing skills. And since they're not sure that they're horses, it can't be assumed that they would have the same social behaviour characteristics of a horse. Obviously they're not that afraid of humans because the herd allowed Hana to stay pretty close and the foal wasn't afraid of her at all. So Tsunomata being able to get a ride on them isn't that much of a stretch either. ^^;; Probably the horses don't really have a natural enemy in the area they live except for that giant tree thing, which is now dead.

I don't think Hana will ever name the foal because she refuses to keep a wild animal as a pet. She's already learnt her lesson through the piggybara things. ^^;; As usual, she allows the foal to decide for itself what it wants to do, she rarely interferes with it.

Well, you also have to consider the fact that everyone over there knew about her father's role in the 7 Seeds Project. Ever since finding out, she's felt a lot of guilt over her parents' actions, so she probably didn't think anyone would take her side when it came down to it. And also, victim blaming is a really common problem in today's society, especially when it comes to rape victims. Sometimes it's so bad that even the victims end up blaming themselves, thinking it's their fault that they were raped, even if all the fault lies entirely on the rapist and not the victim. Not only that, after Hana was almost raped, I recall reading readers' comments saying that Hana deserved it and that Ango wasn't to blame at all. So you see, it isn't surprising that Hana would be surprised that everyone took her side and went up against Ango and Ryo. That sort of thing doesn't always happen. ^^;;

I'm not sure if she really will be afraid of that, Hana doesn't seem that concerned about Ango. Even when she didn't know that Ango had left, she was still more than willing to take Fujiko back to their settlement to see the baby delivered (in fact I'm pretty sure she forgot all about Ango and Ryo, it was really Aramaki that was worried about it, not her). I'm sure she feels that her problems with Ango are just between her and him, and that he's only a true threat to her and nobody else, but that she's prepared to hold her ground against him should he try anything else.

It's still the Awakening Insects story arc right now, it'll end soon. I believe the new arc starts with chapter 125? I think it's the 'Sea Chapter' next. :3 It takes an interesting turn, that's for sure. Everyone getting together was never going to be that easy, after all. XD

Unfortunately there were only a few people who mentioned 7 Seeds, Shojobeat has already announced their four new series: Seiyuu Academy, Hapi Mari, Yoroshiku Master and Midnight Secretary. 7 Seeds is probably better not released under the Shojobeat label anyway, since that will detract males from purchasing it (7 Seeds isn't really shojo anyway). You should make your appeal directly to Viz next time. :)

Wait, WHAT? Seriously??? I can't believe some people actually said that!!! Ango was totally the criminal in that rape attempt incident - no matter how furious he was, raping a person (be it a male or female) is a most terrible crime that absolutely cannot be excused, never.

Ango just wanted to hurt Hana as much as possible because he couldn't punish Takashi for his deeds anymore and so shifted his hatred towards the teacher to his innocent daughter. Hana was never at fault for Ango trying to rape her to begin with. That's a so-called "rape myth".

I recently came across a very interesting one-shot manga that deals with the matter of rape, the suffering of victims and many "myths" that still circle in society about rape and make the victims still suffer even after the rape incident itself is over; the so-called "Second Rape". I'd seriously recommend to read this manga to all of those fucking chauvinists out there!!

Sorry about my outburst, Panda-chan. I know you love Hana too, it's just that I get mad when I learn of people talking this heartlessly about rape victims.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few people say stuff like Hana deserved it in the 7 Seeds forum, or tried to defend Ango for trying to rape her. Haven't you seen that happen? I've argued one too many times with other people over this matter. ^^;;

Not just hurt Hana as much as possible, he also wanted to dominate her, control her completely. What he was doing really was inexcusable, no matter how impudent Hana was or how terrible her father way. =/ Even if these people don't like Hana, I don't see how that's an excuse. =_=

OMG, yay, I finally get to read chapter 122!! XD I’ve read all the others, up to and including chapter 128, but no one had 122 up; it was driving me nuts, lol.

I really love how touched Hana was that everyone stood up for her, and I think it’s funny how Aramaki was so concerned about it but Hana wasn’t worried about Ryo and Ango still being there.

I agree with Hana, all those animals running to the sea really is an amazing sight!

Tsunomata = best entrance ever, lmao.
